A Drop in the Ocean

As I sit down to write my first blog post, I cannot help but think about my goals for this platform. I aim to share my thoughts and experiences on various topics that interest me and connect with a community of like-minded individuals.

Service is like a drop in the ocean. Even If we do little, it still helps. Yesterday, I had a unique and fulfilling experience when I joined the “Sandwich Seva”, a service opportunity from our Sathya Sai Trivalley center. The opportunity was to make around 120 packs of oranges, juice, snack bars, chips, and sandwiches to feed the homeless at the Modesto shelter. Although it was tiring work, I had a lot of fun with my fellow center kids. We split ourselves into groups, each group doing a particular activity. It was like a production line, starting with spreading peanut butter and jam on the bread slices, packing each sandwich, bagging the sandwich with other items, and finally boxing the 120 bags and loading them in the car.

The experience taught me to be grateful for what I have and to use it wisely, as others do not have the same gift that I do.
